A safari, two hours from Amsterdam
Beekse Bergen is the Netherlands’ big safari park: giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and lions on open savannah, rather than animals in small enclosures. It sits near Tilburg, in the woods and lakes of North Brabant, about an hour and fifty minutes south of Amsterdam.
Why families go by private car
By train it is two changes and a bus, with tired children on the way back. With your own driver you are collected at your hotel, dropped at the gate, and the van is waiting when you are done. Coats, snacks and the pushchair stay in the car.
A whole day, at your pace
The animals are liveliest in the morning, so we leave early. After that the day is yours: walk the park, take the park’s own safari trips, have lunch, and leave when the family has had enough. Your driver waits all day, and the price does not change if you stay longer in the park.
Efteling is twenty minutes away
Beekse Bergen and Efteling are neighbours. Many families do both on two days — see our Efteling trip for that one.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Beekse Bergen from Amsterdam?
About 120 km by road, near Tilburg in the south of the Netherlands — roughly an hour and fifty minutes each way.
Does the driver wait for us all day?
Yes. The price includes the driver waiting at the park, so you leave when you want to, not when a coach says so.
Can the minivan drive through the safari?
Plan the day around the park's own options — walking, and the safari trips the park runs. Ask us when you book if you would like to see what is possible on your date.
Are park tickets included?
No. Buy them on the park's website before the day; it is usually cheaper online, and it saves the queue at the gate.
Is it suitable for small children?
Very much so. We bring free child seats, the van takes the pushchair, and the day runs at your family's pace.
