Terms

The terms your booking is made under — what the price includes, what is extra, and what happens if plans change.

These are the terms your booking is made under. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

Who you are dealing with

You are dealing with Ride Holland, a private car and minivan service based in Amsterdam and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.

A booking request is not yet a booking

The form on this site sends us a request, not a confirmed reservation. Nothing is booked and nothing is owed until we reply and confirm your date, your price and your pick-up in writing. We do this quickly, but until you have that confirmation, treat the date as unheld.

We may decline a request — most often because the date is already taken, or because the party is larger than the vehicle can legally carry.

Prices

Our prices are for the whole vehicle, not per person. A price for four people is the same price for one, and the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay.

Included in every quoted price:

  • the driver for the agreed period
  • fuel, road tolls and parking
  • waiting time during the day, on a tour
  • child seats, fitted before we collect you

Not included, unless we have agreed it in writing:

  • entrance tickets, museum admission and boat hire
  • food and drink
  • being met inside the arrivals hall at Schiphol, which is a paid extra at €25 in a car and €35 in a van. The standard pick-up is kerbside at Schiphol Departures, level 2, lane 2 — your driver waits there and you come up to meet them.

There is no night surcharge, on any route or tour. An early-morning or late-night departure costs the same as a midday one. A 5am run to Schiphol is priced exactly like an 11am one.

Airport pick-ups and waiting time

We track your flight, so a delayed landing does not cost you the car.

After you land, the first hour of waiting is free. That covers passport control, the baggage belt and the walk out, which is what most delays actually cost.

Beyond the first hour, waiting is €25 per hour. Nothing is added quietly: if a delay is running long, the driver will tell you where you stand before the charge starts.

Payment

Payment is taken in advance. When your request reaches us we reply by email, within 60 minutes, with the exact price and a payment link. Your booking is confirmed once that link is paid, and not before — until then the date is not held for you.

You can pay by iDEAL, Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Sending the request itself costs nothing and charges nothing. If you would rather ask a question first, message us on WhatsApp; there is no obligation either way.

Every price on this site includes VAT. The figure you are quoted is the figure you pay — nothing is added at the end.

Changing or cancelling

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your pick-up time. We refund what you paid, less the transaction costs the bank charged on the payment — those are already spent by the time you cancel and we cannot get them back.

To move a booking to another date, message us as early as you can. If we can move you, we will, and there is no fee for it.

If we cancel, you get your money back in full. In practice it almost never comes to that: if a vehicle lets us down we send another one, usually within minutes, because we would far rather drive you than refund you.

Inside those 24 hours, and if nobody comes to the pick-up point, the booking is not refunded. The vehicle and the driver were held for you, and that time cannot be sold to anyone else at an hour’s notice.

Because this is transport on an agreed date, the usual EU 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases does not apply. That is a carve-out in the law for scheduled transport, not something we have written ourselves.

The vehicle and your party

Which vehicle you travel in depends on the size of your party:

  • One to four people — a Mercedes-Benz sedan.
  • Up to seven — a Mercedes-Benz V-Class, the more comfortable of the two vans.
  • Up to eight — a Mercedes-Benz Vito, which carries one more.

Larger parties travel in more than one vehicle. Sixteen people is two vans, and there is no upper limit — we add vehicles until the group fits.

Luggage space is finite. If your party is at the top of the vehicle’s capacity and everyone has a large suitcase, tell us when you book so we can send the right van or a second one.

Getting you there

We plan routes to arrive in good time, but traffic, weather, road closures and ferry queues are not within our control, and we cannot guarantee an arrival time. Where a delay is our fault, we will put it right. Where it is the motorway’s fault, we will get you there as fast as is safe.

We will not carry more passengers than the vehicle is licensed for, and the driver may refuse to continue if a passenger is unsafe, abusive, or will not wear a seatbelt.

In the vehicle

  • No smoking.
  • No alcohol.
  • No eating while we are moving.
  • Drinks are fine if they have a cap or a lid. No open cans on the move — one firm brake and it is on the upholstery. Anything sealed and properly packed is welcome.
  • Pets on request. Tell us the animal and its size when you book. We will give you an honest yes or no then, rather than turn you away at the door.

If the vehicle has to be cleaned

  • €50 where the car simply needs vacuuming out after the trip.
  • €250 where a passenger is sick in the vehicle, or it is left in a state that needs a full professional clean.

The larger figure is not a penalty for bad manners. A vehicle that has been thrown up in cannot carry anybody else that day, so every remaining booking on that shift has to be cancelled. The cleaning bill is the smaller half of what it costs us; the lost day is the rest.

If something goes wrong

Tell us. The fastest route is the WhatsApp number or a phone call — you will reach the person who runs the company, not a queue.
